You are more than welcome – you are loved!

At Ward Church, we aim to “lead generations to live and love like Jesus.” That means we love people – from every age and stage. We love others because God first loved us. We want you to fully know the love of God too. And in turn, share that love with others. That’s called being “on mission” to shine God’s light in our homes, community and world. Ward Church Farmington Hills (27996 Halsted, close to the 12 Mile Road intersection, across from Kroger) is the second campus of Ward Church in Northville.

Open and ready to serve

As part of Ward, we will have many of the same elements as our main campus. But we also want to lean into the areas of need that are unique to Farmington Hills. We exist to share God’s love, care and compassion with those we meet. That’s what it’s like within the family of God.

What to Expect

Our services are a combination of in-person and simulcast elements. Dress is “come as you feel comfortable” so that could mean jeans and t-shirts, or your Sunday best. The teaching on Sunday comes from our main campus, where we watch our pastors via video screen, as they preach at our main campus in Northville.

Other opportunities on Sundays + throughout the week:

What do kids learn on Sundays?
WardKids follows along with the Orange curriculum. We know you want your kids to grow up:

  • Making wiser choices
  • Building stronger relationships
  • Developing a deeper faith

That’s why Orange strives to provide you with the tools to make life easier and a strategy for both church AND home to give kids a faith that will last forever and make your church a place they want to be.

Have questions? Email our Director of Family Ministry Justin Tucker.

WardStudents – Grades 6-12

Our students, grades 6-12. are invited to serve on Sundays or attend the worship service with their families. We invite all 6-12 graders to be a part of WardStudents Wednesdays at our Northville campus from 6:30-8 p.m. Have questions? Email the Director of WardStudents Mark Ordus.

Growing together in small groups

God created us to live in relationship with Him and with others. Small groups create space for us to care for others and to be cared for. They launch us into learning and growth – all in the context of community. It’s part of our design! We hope every person will get connected to a small group, whether that is by hosting one yourself or jumping into the groups available.

In the fall and early spring, people (adults of any age) get a chance to join a new or existing group as we kick off a new study. Of course, you can see about getting into a group at any time by emailing Bridgit Beals at bridgit.beals@ward.church.

Connecting with our community

At Ward Church, we are passionate about connecting with people in our community to meet their spiritual, physical and relational needs. We believe in the potential of Farmington Hills and want to be partner in its success. For information on these opportunities, email Sue Linden at sue.linden@ward.church.

ESL Conversational Groups: Are you a new English speaker who would like practice talking with others? Our conversation groups start in October and happen four times a year. They meet once a week in the daytime and once a week in the evening for 10 weeks. Students may attend both day and evening sessions. The sessions are free!

Ward Church Farmington Hills Community Garden: We have a community garden at our Farmington Hills campus that many community and church members use for their own gardens! If you like to get your hands dirty and get some exercise outdoors, this is a great opportunity.

CARES (COMMUNITY. ACTION. RESOURCES. EMPOWERMENT. SERVICES.) offers comprehensive support services for individuals and their families in and around the Farmington Hills area that are in need or have limited access to everyday necessities due to insufficient financial resources or family instability. Ward Church Farmington Hills partners with CARES regularly.

Meet Pastor Sean

Pastor Sean Carroll joined Ward Church in August of 2020. He has a Master of Arts in Counseling and Master of Divinity from Covenant Theological Seminary.

He serves at Ward Church Northville as the Pastor of Spiritual Formation and Care and also as Campus Pastor at Farmington Hills. Sean is married to his wife, Emily, and they have six children. Sean and his family moved to Michigan from Missouri in 2020.

What is a campus pastor?

As campus pastor, Sean will not serve in a teaching role on Sundays. Rather, he will serve more as a morning service host and facilitator. Throughout the week, his role becomes highly relational. He will focus on ensuring the operations and programming run smoothly at the church, as well as identifying ways to connect with church members outside of the church.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Sunday service like at Ward Church Farmington Hills?

The majority of the Sunday service happens live, including announcements, music and other worship elements, like communion and baptism/dedication. The Farmington Hills campus closely follow the contemporary worship style as experienced at the Northville campus: “Gifted and diverse musicians lead updated hymns, classic choruses, and new songs. Led by a band, our aim is musical excellence devoid of showmanship.” Attendees receive the sermon via a video simulcast from Ward Church Northville.

Note: For those wishing to watch online, you can view the Ward Church Northville Sunday services at ward.church/live.

What are the children and youth programs like at Ward Church Farmington Hills?

Ward Church Northville has a strong, robust Sunday morning children’s program, called WardKids, and uses the Orange curriculum. The Farmington Hills campus follows the same curriculum and program structure as what is offered in Northville.

During the 2022-23 ministry year, the Farmington Hills middle and high school students are invited to attend the WardStudents activities and programs offered weekly at the Northville campus.

What groups can I get involved with?

Ward Church Farmington Hills offers small groups that meet at various times throughout the week. We offer a community garden where you can adopt a plot or help with the care of the entire garden area. We offer ESL Conversation Groups two days a week. We also have a book club, after church lunches, discipleship opportunities, and many other ways to meet the needs of our neighbors. Many of these events can be found on this page and on our Event Finder.

What happened to Grace Chapel?

On Sunday, Feb. 20, 2022, the members of Ward Church and Grace Chapel voted for the Grace Chapel building and property to become part of Ward’s second campus location. As a daughter church of Ward for over 40 years, Grace Chapel was looking to embark on a new chapter in its church’s history. Having been without a pastor for two years, the Grace Chapel leadership saw this as an opportunity to reconnect with its parent church, and continue growing the church and spreading the gospel throughout the local community.

It held its final service as Grace Chapel on Sunday, Feb. 27, 2022. The Grace Chapel congregation, now known as Ward Church Farmington Hills, began holding their own Sunday services in October 2022.
