Holy Week

We observe Holy Week with a posture of reflection, heaviness and gratitude. Remembering the life and death of Jesus in this way brings a fullness of joy when we celebrate the resurrection and what it means for the world today.

Maundy Thursday

Thursday, April 9

This year, rather than our traditional Ward Church Maundy Thursday Service of Shadows, we will join together with our brothers and sisters in Christ for a city-wide Sacred Assembly. Churches from across our state will gather exclusively online to hear from several pastors, including our own, Pastor Scott McKee. This will be a powerful time of reflection and unity. You can stream the service at ward.church/live at 7 p.m. on Thursday.

Good Friday

Friday, April 10

In this extraordinary season of challenge and opportunity, our denomination (the EPC) will be partnering with several other denominations (PCA and the ACNA) to come together, in spirit and with intention, for a Day of Prayer and Fasting on Good Friday. We’ll join with more than 500,000 other invited congregants to participate in this Day of Prayer and Fasting.

We are providing a prayer guide (digital PDF) you may work through on your own. You will also have access to stream a curated, 30-minute guided prayer package – accompanied by art to enhance your focus on Jesus from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. This will be available at ward.church/live and all the places you normally can watch our Sunday live streams.

*Ward Church building will remain closed.
