More Than a List
November 30-December 24
Christmas often brings lists—things to do, gifts to buy, places to be. Our calendars fill and our attention scatters as we chase the perfect holiday. Yet beneath the wrapping paper and candlelight, God’s heart beats with a deeper invitation. If God made a Christmas list, it would not be filled with possessions or fleeting desires. It would reflect His eternal heart for the world: light breaking into darkness, sons and daughters coming home, honor given to His Son, and peace that reaches from heaven into our homes.
This Advent, we are invited to look beyond the hustle and checkboxes and to ask a better question: What is on God’s heart this Christmas? Scripture reveals the answer in the story of Jesus—God’s own list written in flesh and blood. Through Christ, He brings light where there is shadow, reconciliation where there is division, and joy where there has been longing.
In More Than a List, we will journey together through the themes that mark God’s desires for His people—light, homecoming, honor, and peace. Along the way, we’ll discover that the true meaning of Christmas is not found in what we can accomplish, but in what God has already accomplished for us.
This season invites us to pause, to realign our hearts with His, and to believe that His Christmas list for us is far more extravagant, more enduring, and more life-giving than anything we could imagine. Christmas is not just a day to prepare for—it’s a story to enter, a love to receive, and a Savior to behold.
