Bringing Clean Water and Hope to Bangladesh
This year, more than 45 Ward Church runners and walkers took on the challenge of completing the Detroit Free Press 5K, half marathon, or full marathon. What began as a personal goal for many became an opportunity to serve others and make a tangible difference for children who lack access to clean, safe water.
Thanks to the generosity of Ward Church and our surrounding community, as of November 2, the team has raised more than $75,000, providing clean water for over 1,500 children in Bangladesh (numbers recently updated).
We praise God for what He is doing through this partnership. As Scripture reminds us, "Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the Lord, and he will reward them for what they have done" (Proverbs 19:17). Through World Vision's clean water initiatives, families in vulnerable communities are experiencing healthier lives, children are able to attend school instead of spending hours collecting water, and entire villages are gaining hope and stability. Every mile run, every step walked, and every dollar given represents the love of Christ in action.
As we celebrate the impact made this year, we also ask the Ward Church family to continue praying for the children and communities in Bangladesh who will be receiving access to clean water. Pray that

these new water sources would bring health, opportunity, and hope. Pray for families to flourish, for children to thrive, and for lives to be transformed through both practical support and God's provision.
The journey doesn't end with race day. In the coming months, some members of the Team World Vision community, including several who participated in this year's races, will have the opportunity to travel to Bangladesh. There, they will witness the impact of these efforts firsthand while sharing the light and love of Jesus with the communities they visit. What began as training runs on local roads will become a powerful reminder that God can use ordinary people to make an extraordinary difference around the world.
We are deeply grateful to everyone who ran, walked, gave, served, prayed, and cheered on the team this season. Together, God is transforming lives and demonstrating that ordinary acts of faithfulness can have extraordinary results.
