After an exhaustive candidate search, Kyle Nabors has joined Ward Church as its Executive Director. Kyle brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the table, having spent much of his career serving faith-based organizations.
Most recently, Kyle served as Chief Operating Officer for Mercy Ships, the world’s largest charity hospital ship, providing free surgical care and healthcare services in sub-Saharan Africa. Just prior to this, he served for 16 years as Executive Director at Kensington Church, managing a staff of over 250 employees and overseeing a $20 million budget. He served from 1982 to 1988 in the U.S. Navy as a Hull Maintenance Technician First Class. He has a bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management from Trinity College and a master’s in Global Leadership (Intercultural Studies) from Fuller Theological Seminary.
Kyle will lead the strategic planning process and provide staff oversight. He will also help to promote clarity, movement, alignment and focus on Ward Church’s mission, vision, and values. Kyle will not be part of the teaching/preaching team, but will focus on providing operational leadership from a pastor’s heart.
Kyle is married to Lisa and they have two sons, both of whom are married and reside in Michigan. His favorite things to do include spending time up north in the woods and being on the water. He loves reading western novels and legal thrillers. He also plays competitive steel tip darts! Kyle has lived in Scotland, Switzerland, Honduras and the United States. He has spent time in Africa, Europe, Asia, Central America, Cuba and the Middle East. This experience has helped him gain perspective and an appreciation for multiple cultures.
