We have the opportunity to be people of blessing; impacting those in our neighborhood, families in the city and others around the world. Ward’s Season of Giving provides a way to do one of these things every two weeks in October and November.
In Our Neighborhood – Coat & Blanket Drive – 10/8-10/15
Please bring your new or gently used coats, jackets and blankets to the Current Focus Kiosk on October 8 and 15. They will be distributed to those in need by our ministry partner, Help’s on the Way, who has assisted thousands of our neighbors who have found themselves in a state of need.
Please leave all donations on the cart with Season of Giving sign near Door 5. You can drop them off at the Kiosks across from WardKids if donating on a Sunday morning.
In the City – Christmas Collections for CDC – 10/22-10/29
Central Detroit Christian Gift + Toy Drive
Ward Church has partnered with Central Detroit Christian in the city of Detroit for decades. One of the ways this organization cares for their community in the city is through the Pride for Parents’ Christmas Store. This store allows parents to shop with dignity, purchasing gifts for their families for the Christmas season. Your donations make low prices and dignified shopping possible. Any funds received from the shopping goes back into to resources for these families. The families involved are known to CDC through their outreach programs and must pre-register to shop. Each family receives a food basket with the purchase of gifts.
Please leave all donations on the cart with Season of Giving sign near Door 5. You can drop them off at the Kiosks across from WardKids if donating on a Sunday morning.
Please bring a new, unwrapped gift between Oct. 22 and Oct. 29.

Around the World – Operation Christmas Child Shoeboxes – Due 11/12
Every 30 seconds, a child comes to Christ through a shoebox! You can be part of this amazing ministry of Samaritan’s Purse by filling an empty shoebox with small toys, school supplies, personal hygiene items (no liquids) and $10 to cover shipping. You can truly change a life forever by sharing the love of Christ with a boy or girl in one of three age groups: 2-4; 5-9 or 10-14, and praying for the child’s spiritual, physical and emotional needs. Each shoebox is given to the child by a ministry partner in their community who shares the love of Christ with the child. Brochures and empty shoeboxes are available between October 22 – November 12. Filled shoeboxes due back to Ward by Nov. 12.
