A Tradition Inspired by Your Generosity

Ward's Season of Giving has become a tradition inspired by your generosity. During the final months of the year, you are invited to participate by blessing our neighbors in the city of Detroit, our World and impacting Ward's mission. Mark your calendars for the four different opportunities we have this season.

Through Our Church

Year-End Offering

10/12 - 12/31

This year, throughout the entire Season of Giving, you can give toward our Year-End Offering! Join us for a season of celebration, reflection and generosity from October 12-December 31, 2025. Every gift to this special offering allows you to designate 25% of your gift to one of two special areas and the remaining portion supports the Impact Fund. The areas are:

  • Be ME Center Scholarship Fund

  • WardFamilies Scholarship Fund

Together, these opportunities help us raise up future church leaders, make Christian education possible for neurodiverse preschool students, and provide scholarships that invest in the next generation—all while strengthening our broader mission through the Impact Fund.

In Our Neighborhood

Coat & Blanket Drive

10/12 - 10/19

Join the mission of Help Is On The Way and Neighborhood House!

As we begin our Season of Giving, we are partnering with Help Is On The Way (Northville) and Neighborhood House (Farmington Hills) to support thousands of our neighbors in need. You can help by donating new or gently used coats, jackets, and blankets to provide warmth and comfort as the colder months approach.

Collection dates: Sunday, October 12–Sunday, October 19

Your generosity will make a tangible difference for individuals and families facing hardship in our community.

Easter Offering: March 9 - April 20

In The City

Christmas Toy Collections for Central Detroit Christian

10/26 - 11/02

Partner with Central Detroit Christian this Christmas!

Join us in supporting the Pride of Parents Christmas Store, where families in the community can shop with dignity for gifts at low prices. Your donations make this possible—every purchase not only provides joy at Christmas but also helps fund resources for these families year-round. Each participating family, connected through CDC’s outreach programs, pre-registers to shop and also receives a food basket with their gift purchases.

How to help:
Bring a new, unwrapped gift to Ward between Sunday, Oct. 26 and Sunday, Nov. 2.

Items needed:

  • Books

  • Toys (sports balls, cars, trucks, crafts, building blocks, toddler toys, culturally appropriate dolls, etc.)

  • New Coats (infant to teen sizes)

  • New Hats & Mittens (durable winter wear)

  • New Socks (children & adults, men & women)

  • New Underwear (children & adults, men & women)

  • BIGGEST NEED – Teen gifts (headphones, earbuds, phone cases, makeup kits)

Compassion in Action: March 30 - April 13

Around the World

Operation Christmas Child Shoeboxes

11/09 - 11/16

Every 30 seconds, a child comes to Christ through a shoebox!

You can be part of this life-changing ministry with Samaritan’s Purse by filling an empty shoebox with small toys, school supplies, personal hygiene items (no liquids), and including $10 to cover shipping. Each shoebox is given to a child by a local ministry partner who not only delivers the gift but also shares the love of Christ.

Through your shoebox, you can make an eternal impact—sharing hope with a boy or girl (ages 2–4, 5–9, or 10–14) while praying for their spiritual, physical, and emotional needs.

  • Empty shoeboxes available: Sunday, October 26 + Sunday, November 2

  • Shoebox Drop Off: Sunday, November 9 + Sunday, November 16

Interested in volunteering? Contact Sally at shoebox@ward.church.

National Collection Week: November 17–24, 2025
Ward Church is serving as a community drop-off location for area residents, churches, and organizations. Details about drop-off times and locations will be shared soon.

How to Donate
