Many different people from around the world come to the Metro Detroit area for many different reasons. While many can speak some English, rarely is it their native language. These people often need opportunities to come and meet in groups, to practice English, while also having an opportunity to make friends and grow their network.
The diverse nature of the Farmington Hills community introduces a lot of opportunity for reaching people who would benefit from an English as a Second Language Conversation Group. Ward Church Farmington Hills offers three yearly sessions consisting of nine weeks each: Fall (Sept.-Nov.), Winter (Jan.-March), and Spring (April-May).
There is a Tuesday group that meets online-only, and a Wednesday group that meets in-person.
Contact naomi.mitchell@ward.church for more details and to get the Zoom link for the online group.
The In-person meeting in Room 3 (No advance registration required.)
To find the next upcoming dates, look at the bottom of this webpage.
You're invited to join International Friends on Tuesdays during the summer. We have specific programming for moms and young children, learning about different cultures and sharing a snack together. These FREE classes will occur Tuesdays during the summer from 10 -11 a.m. with social time at the playscape afterwards.
Registration for these gatherings is required and will be available on this page as the time draws closer.
