How do we keep believing the dream when nothing seems to be coming together?

First. Define Dream:

American Dream: wealth, upward mobility, home ownership, belief in working hard to get ahead

Do you know what the Jesus dream is?

8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” – Acts 1-2

HIS CALLING (Vision for life)

With this in mind, we constantly pray for you, that our God may make you worthy of his calling, and that by his power he may bring to fruition your every desire for goodness and your every deed prompted by faith. – 2 Thessalonians 1:11

HOW IT HAPPENS:

Therefore, holy brothers and sisters, who share in the heavenly calling, fix your thoughts on Jesus, whom we acknowledge as our apostle and high priest. – Hebrews 3:1

Why the waiting?

1. Waiting purifies our motives. (James 4:3,8)
2. Waiting invites us to dependence. (Psalm 94:18-19)
3. [Good] Waiting leads to acceptance. (Genesis 41:51-52)

We can state our case! And then rest our case:

I rest my case with you. – Jeremiah 20:12 MSG

Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving. – Colossians 3:23-24
