The HESS LIVING SCHOLARSHIP FUND has been established by Ward Church to provide financial assistance to individual members of WARD EVANGELICAL PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH who are preparing, at the college or graduate level, for full-time Christian vocational service.
We believe that God is calling significant numbers of our members into His service, and we want to be certain that those who answer this call do so with awareness of the support and encouragement of Ward Evangelical Presbyterian Church.
Hess Scholarship recipients must meet all the following criteria:
a) Be a member of Ward Evangelical Presbyterian Church or the child of a Ward
supported career missionary.
b) Be pursuing a full-time post high school program within normal duration timing.
c) Not be a member of the paid staff of Ward Evangelical Presbyterian Church.
d) Be preparing at a seminary, college, or university for full-time Christian
vocation.
e) Have specific plans to enter full-time ministry by identifying an organization, agency, and/or key contact with whom on-going discussion is facilitated. We require that you have specific plans to enter the ministry or full-time Christian work. You must have identified an organization with whom you are in correspondence (ex. Presbytery Candidate Committee) and/or a key contact with whom you are discussing involvement (ex. Mission Agency Candidate Secretary).
If you will be studying this Fall in preparation for full-time Christian vocation and meet these requirements, we invite you to complete this application and return it to the Outreach Office no later than April 30, 2024, SCHOLARSHIPS ARE GRANTED IN AUGUST FOR THE SCHOOL YEAR BEGINNING IN THE FALL.
