I’d like to take a moment to celebrate generosity. The generosity of you, the Ward Church congregation, displayed in your year-end giving.
At the beginning of December, we were facing the overwhelming goal of $844,021 in December giving in order to finish the year 2018 on target. When challenged to reflect on God’s faithfulness this past year and to “finish strong” with your giving in response, you stepped up to the challenge.
You, as a congregation, responded by contributing $846,872 in December to the Ward General Fund, allowing us to meet our goal, with a surplus of $2,851. That is truly amazing.
Although this response should not surprise me, given God’s past faithfulness to us as a church and your strong history of generosity, it still blows my mind that for generation after generation the people of Ward Church continue to embrace the scriptural principle of abundant giving.
It thrills my heart to know that your hearts are with us as we seek to share Christ and make disciples. I know that because Matthew 6:21 tells us that where your treasure is there will your heart be also.
Thank you Ward Church. We have truly finished well in 2018!
