January 8-February 5
As part of our year-long study of Acts, we turn the page and enter the next chapter in the story of the early church. Following the stoning of Stephen, we see persecution of the church begin to ramp up, causing them to scatter. Through this dispersing of God’s people, the message of the gospel is carried beyond Jerusalem, into Samaria. It is the beginning of the Great Commission, being carried out, and it will set the stage of the worldwide movement that will eventually envelop the entire world.
