Dear Ward Family,
In his famous Sermon on the Mount, Jesus said that if parents love to give good gifts to their children “how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him” (Matthew 7:11). We can be certain of the goodness of our God!
This Thanksgiving season is an excellent time to take stock of our many blessings and give thanks to God. Our Thanksgiving Day service at 10:00 a.m. is one opportunity for you to give thanks with others in joyful worship. All ages are welcome.
Our thanksgiving offering this year will help us live out Jesus’ admonition in his Sermon on the Mount to “do to others what you would have them do to you” (Matthew 7:12) by providing weekly worship broadcasts to those unable to attend church in person. Currently, we are able to live stream only the worship service with live preaching. Because the live preaching rotates between the classic and modern services, our homebound and other online viewers see a different worship venue every-other-week.
Until recently, broadcasting simultaneous services was cost-prohibitive. However, new technology infrastructure has made this possible. The Thanksgiving Offering will be used to purchase additional cameras and equipment which will allow future online viewers to access classic or modern worship every Sunday.
WHY IT MATTERS
- People often visit a church online before visiting in person. One uniqueness of Ward is our commitment to different expressions of worship. We want our online guests to experience the beautiful worship diversity of Ward when considering a new church home.
- Many Ward members worship online because they are unable to attend in person. Online streaming allows members with health and mobility issues to stay connected with their church. Your gift will make worship accessible to more people, and will help many Ward members stay connected to the church they love even when they are unable to attend.
Your gift may be may be dropped in the regular Sunday offering plate or returned to the church offices anytime with a note “Thanksgiving” on the memo line of any check or notated on an offering envelope. You may also give today online.
Thank you for your thoughtfulness!
