In this 9-week series running Sept. 25-Nov. 20, we will explore the first seven chapters of the Book of Acts. By looking at the birth of the church, we will rediscover our roots. More than that, we will rediscover the beauty and power of the local church that Jesus envisioned.

Rachel Sochacki – Gateway 328

Rachel Sochacki is one of the co-leaders for Gateway 328, the Ward anti-human-trafficking ministry. When you talk to Rachel today about her ministry, her passion for human-trafficking victims is very evident. However, it was not always that way for Rachel. But God’s still small voice called to her in a worship service, to do the unimaginable to bless others.

Meet Mark and Katie from WardStudents

Our WardStudents team has some fresh faces this fall we want to introduce you to and help you get to know a little better! Now that they’ve had a couple months on the job, we are really excited by the vision they are casting for this pivotal program at Ward Church. Plus, it’s so inspiring to see the energy, positivity and creativity they have to love on and mentor the young people they serve. UPDATED Gathering Guidelines

We continue to monitor the threat of COVID-19 and its more transmissible variants. As always, we encourage all to follow the safety recommendations of the CDC, including hand washing and mask wearing indoors. Throughout the Ward Church campus, masks are encouraged, though not currently required.

New Sunday Services and Times

As announced during the 2021 Annual Meeting, starting fall 2021, Ward Church will shift to offering two different worship styles at separate times. Starting September 12, Sunday worship services will take place at 9:00 and 10:30 a.m.  The 9:00 service will be traditional. The 10:30 service will be contemporary.

Staff Update – Terence + Ashley Gray

Terence Gray will join the pastoral team of Ward Church in August 2021 as Assistant Pastor. Terence, his wife, Ashley, and their nine-month-old daughter, Lucca, will be relocating from Memphis, Tennessee. Meet the Grays!

Doug Thompson: A look back on a faith-filled career

Learn about the life and career of our beloved Pastor of Care Ministries, Doug Thompson, who is retiring on June 13. Following both the 9:30 and 11 a.m. worship services that day, Doug and Linda will be in the Hub area just outside of ReNu to give you the opportunity to greet them, share your well wishes and say a personal good-bye.

Bite-size Theology Videos

Whether you are new to church leadership, or have been serving for a while, it’s helpful to be refreshed on Ward’s beliefs and historical background. To help facilitate this education, we are developing a series of videos that includes six categories with five to six lessons each. Sign up to receive links to the videos starting May 1.

“Stations of the Cross” Easter Art Gallery

Artist Scott Erickson’s artwork “Stations in the Street” presents a stark and visceral representation of Christ’s journey to the cross. This art gallery is currently featured at Ward Church, just outside of the sanctuary. The collection will remain through Easter Sunday. View a virtual presentation here.
