Hurricane Ian made landfall on September 28 along Florida’s Gulf Coast as a Category 4 hurricane. It has wrought devastation across many communities and most especially the Fort Myers area. Over 100 lives were lost and destruction is widespread.
Ward members Rick Bernard and Dan Hooker are leading a serving team down to assist Samaritan’s Purse with the Hurricane relief efforts in Florida. Samaritan’s Purse was one of the first ones on scene and has a very organized process to supply help, hope and relief to those in need.
Dates + Informational Meeting
The team plans to leave on Nov. 5 and come back on Nov. 21. Anyone can choose to go down for just the 1st or 2nd week if they provide their own transportation. Or they can go down for both weeks with Rick and Dan. There will be an informational meeting on Oct. 16 after the 10:30 a.m. service in the Conference Center at the Northville campus. You need to be 14 years of age or older. Anyone is welcome to join; no background experience needed, just a heart to serve.
If you cannot make it to the informational meeting but want to sign up, email firstname.lastname@example.org.
