Global Outreach

Across the street & around the world

OUR VISION

We go to places where Jesus communities do not yet exist. We speak and serve in culturally relevant ways. We put love in action and we do it to reach people with the good news of Jesus. Ward supports over 60 missionaries and other global partner organizations. See our Ward Serves the Nations website.

Ward Church is an Accredited Member of the Standards of Excellence in Short-Term Mission

SHORT-TERM IMPACT TRIPS

Impact trips are exciting ways you can be on mission for Christ and serve as his hands and feet in areas near and far. These trips range in length from one to two weeks and there’s something for every age and stage.

Trips are currently being planned for 2024 and will be listed on this page when they are ready.

People we Serve, Places we Go

Ward Church has planned many short-term mission trips over the years, to support our global partners and other strategic ministries.

Other locations we have served in the past:

  • India – Teams have traveled to help children and teachers at the Open Doors sponsored school in Gaya.

  • Macedonia – Teams focus on serving about 100 kids at a camp through ESL, sports, games, snacks and prayer.

  • Alaska – Volunteers provide support for KCAM radio ministry missionaries, which has served the Copper River Valley community since 1964. The community largely consists of native Ahtna people who are the largest American Indian tribe in Alaska’s interior.

  • Spain/Morocco – Volunteers serve with our partners at EPC and Not Abandoned to serve and learn with Christians of Muslim background.

  • Thailand – We partner with Not Abandoned, an organization located in Pattaya, Thailand to work with women made vulnerable by sex slavery.

Gateway 328

Gateway 328 is a ministry of Ward Church that connects people to resources and organizations that stand at the forefront of the fight against human trafficking in the Metro Detroit area and around the world. There are many “gateways” into human trafficking that a vulnerable person might encounter. But, the love of God is the door through which Gateway 328 hopes to lead those caught in the web of human trafficking and exploitation. Our guiding verse is Galatians 3:28: “There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.” Visit their page to learn more about serving opportunities and to get more information about Gateway 328’s partners: All Worthy of Love and Not Abandoned.

Days for girls

Days for Girls

Days for Girls International has impacted the lives of over 2.5 million women and girls with feminine hygiene solutions and health education. Jane Black is the team leader of the Days for Girls Northville Team. The team consists of volunteers from Ward Church as well as volunteers from the community.  The team gathers monthly to handcraft management kits right here at Ward Church. The kits are then distributed to women and girls in developing countries and where humanitarian relief efforts are being made. These efforts are keeping females from missing days of school and employment due to lack of supplies.

The Days for Girls kits made by the Northville Team have helped women and girls in India, Kenya, Mali, Lebanon, Jordan, Chad, United States, and Ukrainian refugees.

The team welcomes new volunteers to join them. Email jane.black@ward.church for information.
